Dedicated to the Community, Committed to Service

My name is Joe Price. I am a qualified Democratic candidate for Sheriff of Polk County and wish to make the voters of Polk County aware of my candidacy.

My wife, Donna, and I were married in 1987. I served our Country with her by my side in the United States Army until 1992 when we returned home to Polk County. In that same year, after graduating from the Police Academy, I started my law enforcement career at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. In those 21 years, I have worked as a Deputy, Detective, and as Director of Jail and Sheriff’s Office Operations. I have educated myself on the numerous and diverse demands placed upon the Sheriff’s office.

I feel that I am not only qualified to be your Sheriff but that I possess the knowledge required to efficiently run the office and its personnel. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has many dedicated men and women who are committed to keeping our residents as safe as possible. As our missions have become more diverse and complex, the demands on our officers and supervisors are greater. My plan is to keep the best trained and prepared personnel in order to meet these demands. I will encourage the men and women of the Sheriff’s Office to strive to fulfill our constitutional duties and our public safety mission while improving the quality of life for those living, working, and visiting in Polk County.

When elected Sheriff I will:

  • Keep and provide for pro-active drug intervention programs in the Polk County Schools.
  • Aggressively combat illegal drug activities within Polk County.
  • Increase visibility of patrol units to provide security and discourage crime.
  • Keep an open door policy for all citizens with concerns.

As your Sheriff I will utilize my past experience and education to continue fighting our community’s drug problem, serve the community, and protect the citizens of Polk County, Tennessee.

The Sheriff’s office mission statement has been to consistently meet the public safety needs of all the people we serve with integrity, respect and fairness. We shall strive to meet or exceed the expectations of those we serve…This statement will not change.

A great President once said, “I will prepare and some day my chance will come.” I have been preparing to be your Sheriff for the past 21 years…but I cannot get there without your vote.
